Competing at the World Masters Athletics (WMA) Outdoor Championships for the first time in eight years, Chapman University cross country and track head coach Anna Wlodarczyk earned a silver medal at the 2011 Championships in Sacramento last week.
Chapman University freshmen Kelly Kneis and D.J. Smithers were the program’s top finishers at the NCAA Division III West Regional Cross Country Championships hosted by Willamette University on Saturday in Salem, Ore.
The Chapman University men’s and women’s cross country teams are set to run at the NCAA Division III West Region championships on Saturday at Willamette University (Ore.). Eight Panthers will compete for a chance to earn a berth at the national championships on Saturday, Nov. 20 in Waverly, Iowa.
All eight Chapman University cross country runners (four men, four women) who competed at the Biola Invitational on Saturday qualified for the NCAA Division III West Regionals which is on Nov. 13 in Salem, Ore. The West Regionals this year are being hosted by Willamette University.
For the second consecutive week, freshmen Daniel Smithers and Elisabeth Mitchell were the Chapman University cross country teams top finishers, this week competing in the 21st Annual Vanguard Invitational at Fairview Park. Of the eight Chapman runners who competed (four men, four women), four were freshmen.
