ORANGE, Calif. – Three members of the Chapman University women's soccer team earned All-SCIAC honors earlier this morning. Junior Anna Montemor earned First Team honors while senior Faith Holloway and junior Riley Pidgeon each earned spots on the Second Team.
In her first season as a Panther, Montemor broke out onto the SCIAC scene towards the end of the season, scoring six of her seven total goals in the second half of the conference schedule. The Snohomish, Wash. native, who transferred in prior to the 2019 season, also tallied three assists against SCIAC opponents, leading the Panthers in both goals and assists. Montemor tallied a hat trick in a 5-1 win over Caltech and scored the game-winning goals in both that victory and a 2-0 victory over La Verne.
Holloway is no stranger to all-conference honors, earning her fourth consecutive All-SCIAC honor in her final season. This is her third Second Team honor after earning a spot on the First Team in the 2018 season. Holloway scored a career-high three goals this season, all against conference opponents. Her biggest goal of the season came as the game-winner over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps that solidified a spot in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament. As a four-year starter and a staple on the back line for the Panthers, the Rocklin, Calif. native helped the Panthers record 10 shutouts this season.
This is Pidgeon's first career All-SCIAC honor. The midfielder appeared in every conference match this season, scoring three of her four total goals against SCIAC opponents. She also tallied three assists against conference foes this season. The San Diego, Calif. native helped control the midfield and helped the Panthers to a 7-3-2 conference ledger and a No. 3 seed in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament.
The Panthers head to Cal Lutheran tonight, Thursday Nov. 7 to play the No. 2-seed Regals in the SCIAC Semifinal match at 7 p.m.
