SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Chapman University women's crew team competed in the 38th Annual San Diego Crew Classic on Saturday and Sunday. The Panthers finished sixth in the six-boat San Diego Zoo and Safari Park Cup on Saturday. Their time of 7:48.61 was just over 40 seconds off the pace set by Orange Coast College, which finished with a time of 7:05.4 in the 2000-meter row.
Chapman also raced Sunday finishing with the third-best time in a five-boat petite race. The Panthers' time of 7:54.55 was faster than UCSD B and Long Beach State, which was disqualified. Sonoma State won the heat with a time of 7:26.30.
