    Freshman Katelyn Serizawa was selected as the Newcomer of the Year, head coach Carol Jue as the Coach of the Year to headline the All-SCIAC women’s basketball awards. In all the Chapman University women’s basketball team had five players honored in the postseason awards.

    The No. 2 seeded Chapman University women’s basketball team fell to No. 3 Cal Lutheran 72-56 on Thursday night the Hutton Sports Center. The Panthers put up a strong fight against the Regals maintaining a lead through the first half.
  • Women's basketball gets key victory in defensive battle

    A defensive struggle throughout, the Chapman University women’s basketball came away with a key 45-38 win over Redlands on Saturday. Both teams turned up the heat defensively but the Panthers (17-6, 12-2 SCIAC) used a late run to capture the much-needed victory.
  • Charles named Female SCIAC Athlete of the Week again

    Junior Megan Charles had a pair of big games to help the Panthers continue on their tear through the SCIAC. She scored 17 points in a win over La Verne on Thursday and followed it up with a 21-point night at Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday.
  • Four score in double figures as women's basketball wins fifth straight

    Four players scored in double figures as the Chapman University women’s basketball team won its fifth game in a row with an 84-68 victory over visiting La Verne on Thursday. Senior Natalia Ebrahimian led everyone with 22 points and 11 rebounds, including 10 offensive rebounds, in the win.
  • Sato and Charles led the Panthers to fourth consecutive win

    Chapman University women’s basketball senior Lauren Sato and junior Megan Charles led the Panthers with 12 points each to help the Panthers to a 60-53 victory over Occidental College at the Hutton Sports Center on Saturday night.
  • Charles, Broughton honored as SCIAC athletes of the week

    The SCIAC honored a pair of Panthers on with Athlete of the Week honors for the second time with season. Junior Megan Charles won her first Female Athlete of the Week Award of the season alongside freshman Connor Broughton, who brought in his first. Charles is the Panthers third women’s basketball player to bring in the honor this season and Broughton is Chapman’s first swimmer to win the award.
  • Fajardo's game-winning layup hands Cal Lutheran first SCIAC loss

    Tied 63-63 with seven seconds left in the game Jaryn Fajardo hit the game-winning layup to give the Panthers to a 65-63 victory, ending Cal Lutheran’s perfect SCIAC run on Saturday afternoon at the Hutton Sports Center.

    The Chapman University women’s basketball team quickly recaptured its winning ways with a 76-39 victory over Caltech on Tuesday. Junior Megan Charles led the charge for the Panthers (10-6, 5-2 SCIAC) with 20 points.

    Sophomore guard Jaime Hum-Nishikado was named Female SCIAC Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career after dominating from the three-point line. On Tuesday, the sophomore drained 23 points off the bench in a win over Pomona-Pitzer for the Panthers fifth win in a row.

    The Chapman basketball teams leapt into the new year with a sweep of the SCIAC’s Athlete of the Week honors. Freshman Cam Haslam won his second Male Athlete of the Week award of the season while senior Natalia Ebrahimian brought in her first.

    Two players scored 20-plus for the second game in a row and the Chapman University women’s basketball team won its fifth straight in an 80-64 victory over visiting Pomona-Pitzer on Tuesday. Sophomore Jaime Hum-Nishikado led the Panthers with 23 points off the bench while senior Natalia Ebrahimian posted her second consecutive double-double.

    A furious back-and-forth pace led to a season-high output and a comeback win for the Chapman University women’s basketball team. The Panthers (6-5, 1-1 SCIAC) extended their winning streak to four games with a 92-85 victory over the Whittier Poets on Saturday.

    The Chapman University women’s basketball team moved to .500 on the year with a decisive 69-54 win over visiting Albion on Wednesday. The Panthers (5-5) overcame a slow start and forced 23 turnovers to key their third victory in a row.

    Freshman Katelyn Serizawa led the Chapman University women’s basketball team to a double-digit victory against previously undefeated Connecticut College on Tuesday night. The Panthers led by as many as 22 point in the fourth quarter and secured the 82-65 win, handing the Camels their first loss of the season.
