|Title:||Diving Head Coach|
Miguel Rodriguez came to Chapman to take over the men’s and women’s diving programs prior to the 2016-17 season with history of championships as a diver and coach.
During his time at Chapman, Rodriguez has coached the most successful diver in Chapman history. Kellyn Toole has finished in the top-two on both diving boards at the SCIAC Championships under Rodriguez' guidance and won the SCIAC title on the 3-meter board in 2018. She has advanced to regionals every year of her college career.
Most recently at Wayland Baptist in 2015-16, Rodriguez coached the NAIA national champion on the 1-meter board. Prior to his year at WBU, he was the diving coach at Chino High School for three years. In his final year at Chino, he coached the CIF-SS diving champion.
Rodriguez competed collegiately at Cerritos College and won the South Coast Conference diving title. He went on to complete and coach at the Master’s diving level before his time at Chino.
Also an inventor, Rodriguez has invented multiple coaching tools to help decrease the risk of injury for divers while they learn and train.
