  • SCIAC recognizes 178 Panthers on All-Academic team, every Chapman team above a 3.0

    An impressive number of Chapman University student-athletes were again recognized for their work in the classroom. The Panthers placed 178 student-athletes on the SCIAC’s annual All-Academic team, the conference announced on Thursday.

    Chapman University men’s water polo alumnus Jake Gross (’15) has been selected to represent Team USA at the 20th Maccabiah Games in Israel.
  • Sixteen Panthers land All-Academic Honors

    The Chapman University men's water polo team continued its commitment toward academic distinction securing another year on the grade-point average leader board. The Panthers earned a collective GPA of 3.02 during the 2016 season after 16 student-athletes recorded a GPA higher than a 3.2 to earn All-Academic honors from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC).
  • O'Brien scores All-America honors

    Junior Jeff O’Brien earned his second career All-America recognition from the American Water Polo Coaches Association. O’Brien was selected to the Second Team after earning Honorable Mention a year ago.

    Another high-scoring season has landed All-SCIAC honors for junior Jeff O’Brien. The First Team honors were the first of O’Brien’s career.
  • Panthers capture sixth in the SCIAC Championship Tournament

    The Chapman University men’s water polo team finished sixth at the SCIAC Championship Tournament after going 2-2 on the weekend. The Panthers fell to No. 8 Cal Lutheran 11-8 on Sunday morning in the fifth place match to earn sixth overall.
  • Men's water polo drops SCIAC Tournament opener to Whittier

    Sophomore Brady Hoskins tallied a hat trick but the Chapman University men’s water polo team fell 12-9 to second-seeded Whittier in the opening round of the SCIAC Tournament. Chapman fell into an early hole but played even with the Poets through the final three quarters.
  • Chapman sweeps competition, advances to fifth place match

    The No. 7 Chapman University men’s water polo team swept the competition on Saturday winning two key matches to advance to the fifth place match at the SCIAC Championship Tournament on Sunday. Chapman defeated Caltech 19-7 in game one, and went on to defeat Occidental 11-6 in game two on Saturday.
  • Men's water polo returns to SCIAC Tournament

    The No. 7 Chapman University men’s water polo team heads into the SCIAC Tournament this weekend, hosted by Caltech at Pasadena City College. The Panthers (4-18, 2-6 in SCIAC) came in a three way tie for sixth place but were seeded No. 7 based on head-to-head match ups.

    Junior center Jeff O'Brien continued to be a force for the Chapman University men’s water polo team on offense, scoring six goals against the No. 1 and No. 3 teams in Division III last week to earn SCIAC AOTW honors for the first time in his career.

    Senior Corey Plaster led the team with four goals in his last home game as a senior, but Chapman still fell to Pomona-Pitzer 12-8 at Allred Pool on Saturday. Junior Chris Garau tallied four assists while Jeff O’Brien recorded five earned ejections.

    The Chapman University men’s water polo team let an early lead slip as the Panthers fell 10-9 to University of La Verne on Saturday at Allred Pool.
  • Panthers rally to defeat Caltech

    The Chapman University men’s water polo team rallied to defeat Caltech 14-6 at Allred Pool on Wednesday afternoon. The Panthers come from behind victory was Chapman’s first SCIAC victory of the season moving Chapman to 1-1 in SCIAC play.

    Chapman University men’s water polo fell to the University of Redlands 17-7 in its SCIAC home-opener at Allred Pool on Saturday. Panther sophomore Brady Hoskins and senior Corey Plaster recorded a pair of goals each for Chapman.
