Olveda returned to his alma mater in 2015. Previously, Steven served as the Associate Director of Media Relations at Long Beach State for two years where he was the primary media contact for the women's volleyball, women's tennis and baseball teams.
Prior to making the transition to the Beach, Olveda worked at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Wash. for three years as the Sports Information & Promotions Specialist. He served as the primary media contact for all of Puget Sound's 23 sports.
Olveda served as a student assistant at Chapman University from 2006-2008 until graduating with a degree in Television & Broadcast Journalism. He assisted in the daily activities of the Sports Information Office while also helping to establish broadcasts of selected athletic events on Chapman Radio.
Upon graduation, he accepted a job as the Graduate Assistant for Sports Information at Boise State. He was the primary contact for the inaugural softball team at Boise State, as well as the swimming & diving teams, while also assisting with sports information duties for the nationally-ranked football team. While at Boise State, he assisted with media relation duties on the field at the 2010 Fiesta Bowl as well as the First & Second Rounds of the 2009 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship.
Olveda earned his Master's degree in Athletic Administration from Idaho State University in 2010 and a Bachelor's degree in Television and Broadcast Journalism from Chapman University in 2008.
