Senior Ricky Medeiros was a force in the backfield in Chapman’s dominant 44-6 victory over Cal Lutheran on Saturday evening. The defensive end got in on 1.5 of the Panthers’ six total sacks for a loss of nine yards.

Both of Medeiros’s sacks came back-to-back in the second quarter. After a sack from Noah Kjos on a Cal Lutheran first-and-ten, Medeiros sacked the Kinsgmen quarterback for a loss of four yards. On the very next play, the Sammamish, Wash. native and fellow classmate Jonathan Bunnel combined for another sack to force a fourth-and-long and a Cal Lutheran punt.

Medeiros’s three sacks this season are a career-high for the senior. His 1.5 sacks against Cal Lutheran this past weekend are also a game-high for the four-year player.
