Senior Jaryn Fajardo reached a career milestone this past week as she led the Panthers to a victory over the visiting Cal Lutheran Regals on Wednesday, Jan. 23. Fajardo scored her 1,000th career point – something only eight other women’s basketball players have been able to do since Chapman joined the ranks of Division III in 1994.
The guard scored a team-high 26 points in the victory, notching her 1,000th point with a free throw with just 26 seconds left to play in the game. She also tallied six steals against Cal Lutheran, becoming just the third Panther in program history to reach 200 career steals. Fajardo ended the game with a line score of 26 points, six rebounds, six steals and four assists.
