Lewis captures Small Colleges singles championship

Chapman University junior tennis player Liz Lewis won the ITA National Small College Championships singles title on Saturday, defeating No. 2 seed Kendra Higgins from the University of Chicago in straight sets 7-6 (5), 6-4 at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala. It’s the first championship for a Chapman tennis player at this event and the second singles tournament title for Lewis this month. [more]


All-American Lewis knocks off top seed in Alabama

Chapman University junior tennis player Liz Lewis upset top-seeded Lorne McManigle from Emory University (Ga.) 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 at the ITA National Small Colleges Championships in Mobile, Ala. on Thursday in the first round at Copeland-Cox Tennis Center. Lewis claims second straight Fall West Regional crown
Last fall, Chapman University tennis player Liz Lewis lived up to her No. 1 seeding and swept through the Division III West Regional tournament with a victory. This year, the two-time All-American entered the tournament as the No. 2 seed, but the results were the same. Lewis defeated top-seeded Siobhan Finicane from Pomona-Pitzer in three sets to win back-to-back titles at the Wilson ITA Division III Fall West Regionals at Claremont last weekend. [more]
