    An impressive number of Chapman University student-athletes were again recognized for their work in the classroom. The Panthers placed 178 student-athletes on the SCIAC’s annual All-Academic team, the conference announced on Thursday.

    The Chapman University softball team lost their second game of the SCIAC Tournament 10-8 this morning to No. 3 Whittier despite heavy hitting. Senior Amber Perez went yard in her final game as a Panther and was joined by freshman Samantha Tong who slammed a three-run homer to cap off her rookie season.

    The Chapman University softball team dropped game one of the double-elimination SCIAC Tournament this afternoon to La Verne. The Panthers recorded four hits from four different players in their 5-0 loss.

    Three members of the Chapman University softball team earned All-SCIAC honors. Freshman Michaela Foisy headlined Chapman’s selection with a spot on the First Team. Sophomore Emily Claudy and freshman Sarah Sumida rounded out the postseason honors, earning spots on the Second Team.
  • Hartmann's gem garners SCIAC weekly honors

    Freshman Sarah Hartmann was selected as the SCIAC Athlete of the Week following a stellar week in the circle. Hartmann went 2-0 with a 1.40 ERA in two games last week, including a crucial shutout Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
  • Softball sweeps to earn SCIAC Tournament berth

    Two wins were needed and the Chapman University softball team swept a doubleheader over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps to earn a spot in the SCIAC Tournament. The Panthers won a marathon first game 1-0 and completed the sweep with a 9-5 win in game two.

    The Chapman University softball team lost both games of the series to Whittier this afternoon. Freshman Michaela Foisy went 1-for-3 and 2-for-4 with the lone run in the first game.

    Senior Amber Perez was red-hot at the plate as the Chapman University softball team split a SCIAC doubleheader with Occidental, winning 4-3 and falling 8-4. Perez was a combined 6-for-7 in the doubleheader with a pair of RBIs and three runs scored.

    The Chapman University softball team fell twice to Pomona-Pitzer on Friday, 4-2 and 7-3. It marked the first time that Chapman had been swept at home this season.

    The pitching remained stingy and freshman Samantha Tong drove in five RBIs to lead the Chapman University softball team to a doubleheader split of Williams on Monday. Chapman’s pitchers allowed just three earned runs as the Panthers completetd their second doubleheader sweep of the season.
  • Softball splits pair of pitchers' duels

    Two of the top hitting teams in the conference ended up playing a pair of pitcher’s duels as the Chapman University softball team split with La Verne on Saturday. The Panthers (11-9, 7-5 SCIAC) took the first game 4-2 but fell 4-1 in the second game to the SCIAC leaders.
  • Chapman and Ithaca trade 8-1 decisions in doubleheader split

    The Chapman University softball team split a doubleheader with visiting Ithaca College on Thursday with both teams winning 8-1. Ithaca took the first game and Chapman took the second game to move to 10-8 on the year.
  • Chapman rallies to earn split with Denison

    The Chapman University softball team split a doubleheader with Denison at home on Saturday at El Camino Real Park. The Panthers fell to Big Red 5-3 in game one, but rallied in game two with a 7-1 victory.
  • Lloyd gets 600th win with run-rule of Redlands
    March 03, 2017
    Head coach Janet Lloyd won her 600th career game as the Chapman University softball team split a doubleheader with Redlands on Friday. The Panthers won the second game of the doubleheader in run-rule fashion with a 14-6 victory in five innings after dropping the first game 8-4 in extras.
  • Softball walks off twice in doubleheader sweep

    Two game-winning hits and pair of stellar pitching performances led the Chapman University softball team to a doubleheader sweep of visiting Cal Lutheran, 3-2 and 2-1. The Panthers (5-3, 3-1 SCIAC) did not allow an earned run in either game and used two late comebacks to secure the sweep.

    If she had any nerves before her first college game, they certainly didn’t show. Freshman Vanessa Gilles had a dominant weekend at the plate and was rewarded with SCIAC Athlete of the Week honors.

    After splitting a doubleheader with Puget Sound yesterday, the Chapman University softball team played to another split with Whitworth today. The Panthers (2-2) fell 8-0 in the first game but broke out for a 10-3 win in game two.
