Panthers fall to Cal Lu in first home match at Tustin Ranch
TUSTIN, Calif. – The Chapman University men's golf team dropped its first dual match of the season 306-315 to visiting Cal Lutheran University at Tustin Ranch Golf Course on Thursday afternoon. It was the first of three home matches for the Panthers this season.
Chapman was led by junior Chris Lungo who shot a four-over 76 for the round.
Junior Lyon Lazare got off to a fast start and stood at even par through the first eight holes. However, a quadruple bogey nine on the 9th hole proved costly and he finished with an eight-over 80 on the day.
Despite shooting an 88 for the round, sophomore Sean Dusselier displayed a flare for the dramatic. First, Dusselier holed out for eagle on the 9th hole, par 5 from approximately 120 yards out. Then, on hole 16 he sank another eagle on a par 4 from 150 yards away.
The Panthers return to action on Thursday at Industry Hills Golf Club for the SCIAC #3 tournament, hosted by Whittier.
