ORANGE, Calif. – After etching his name into the Chapman University football record books this season, sophomore RB Jeremiah McKibbins has been named to the All-West Region third team. The honor follows McKibbins' first season as a starter for the Panthers where he earned top-25 statistical rankings on both a national and regional level.

McKibbins certainly made his presence felt in 2012, rushing for a school record 148.8 yards per game and ranking No. 6 nationally in that category. With 1,190 rushing yards he became just the second player in Chapman history to run for over 1,000 yards in a season, leading the Panthers which also ranked sixth in Division III in rushing offense.

The All-SCIAC first team selection put together his most impressive performance of season in a 49-35 win at Whittier, which featured a Chapman record five rushing touchdowns by McKibbins and a career-high 251 rushing yards; a feat that fell just 11 yards shy of the Panthers' single-game record.

McKibbins rushed for over 100 yards six times this season, while scoring a team-leading 11 touchdowns in just eight games. His 9.75 points per game ranked 17th in Division III and second within the SCIAC.

The award marks the third consecutive year Chapman has had a player named to the All-Region team as McKibbins follows in the footsteps of punter Jimmy Adranly (2011) and Jordan Pavlisin (2010).

The All- Region teams were selected by sports information directors in each region and the staff with a record-setting 928 nominations for the honor.
