    ORANGE, Calif. – Three members of the Chapman University baseball team earned American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-Region honors this week. Senior Gavin Blodgett and junior Tyler Peck each earned spots on the Second Team, while junior Matt Mogollon was selected to the Third Team.

Junior Tyler Peck headlined the selections with a spot on the Second Team, while juniors Matt Mogollon and Tristan Kevitch earned spots on the Third Team.

    SPOKANE, Wash. – The Chapman University baseball team rallied to defeat the Redlands Bulldogs 6-5 in the second game of the double-elimination Western Regional. The Panthers (35-12) were led by junior Alex Tsuruda, who hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to help give Chapman the victory.
  • Baseball falls in NCAA opener

    The opportunities were there for another comeback win but the Chapman University baseball team fell 10-5 to Willamette in the opening game of the Spokane Regional. The Panthers (34-12) won four straight elimination games to win the SCIAC Tournament and will need a duplicate effort to advance.

    A doubleheader split with La Verne (26-11, 16-5 SCIAC) was highlighted by senior Jared Love’s solo home run in the bottom of the second inning in the Panthers’ (27-10, 12-9 SCIAC) game one victory. With 22 career home runs, Love becomes Chapman baseball’s all-time leader in career home runs.

Junior pitcher Matt Mogollon pitched his second complete-game shutout of the 2018 season while senior Gavin Blodgett hit a couple of two-RBI doubles to help lift the Panthers (24-8, 9-7 SCIAC) to victory.

    The Chapman University baseball team earned its ninth victory in a row with a 9-4 win over Cal Lutheran (15-11, 5-8 SCIAC) earlier this afternoon. The Panthers (19-7, 4-6 SCIAC) were led by juniors Tristan Kevitch and Andrew Mendonca, who each went yard to lift Chapman to victory over the defending national champions.

    The winning streak continued and another streak began to form as the Chapman University baseball team defeated visiting George Fox 10-0 for its eighth win in a row. It was also the second consecutive shutout for the Panthers’ pitching staff, led by junior Christian Cosby on the mound today.

    The Chapman University baseball team earned a pair of wins this afternoon with wins over Middlebury College (1-6) and Williams College (1-4). Junior Tyler Peck pitched six innings and struck out a career-high 12 batters in the 9-0 shutout effort, while senior Gavin Blodgett hit a three-run homer to help the Panthers (17-7) earn the 5-3 victory in game one.
  • Baseball overpowers Linfield for 7-3 win

    A dominant pitching performance and some early offense led the Chapman University baseball team to a 7-3 win over visiting Linfield on Friday. Junior Matt Mogollon and Austin Merrill combined to strike out 14 Wildcats in the win.

    The Chapman University baseball team run-ruled the visiting Principia College (8-3) in the bottom of the eighth with a 12-2 victory. Junior Tristan Kevitch hit two bombs for the Panthers (14-7), including an inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the fifth.
