Junior Matt Mogollon picked up his second win of the season with a 10-strikeout performance against Concordia in the first game of a three-game series. The right hander from Torrance, Calif. pitched the first three innings in the rain before the game was called off for the night on Friday. He trotted back out to the mound on Saturday when the game picked back up and tossed three more masterful innings.
Mogollon stuck out seven of the 10 batters he faced and did not allow a hit as Chapman clung to a 3-2 lead before opening it up after his exit. He worked six innings in total, allowing two runs on five hits, but did not issue a walk while fanning 10. His 1.73 ERA through four starts ranks third in the SCIAC.
